Tap, tap, is this thing on?
It's been a while since I last posted here. A lot has happened between now and then but I'm not ready to unload here since I'm still unpacking things.
Instead I wanted to talk about exploring and pursuing our dreams, passions, goals and gifts. I love making lists (Wing Type 3 Achiever enneagrams, holla!) so I made a little list of things I want to accomplish. There aren't specific deadlines of when I want to achieve them per say but it'd be nice if it was within my lifetime God willing. I guess you can say some are short terms goals and some are longer.
So here it is:
1. Join a gym.
2. Take a song writing course.
3. Attend a worship leader training retreat.
4. Make over my bathroom.
I'll expand a bit on each one especially since the last one seems to be the anomaly out of the four. Lol.
Join a gym
I can check this one off the list! This afternoon I pulled the trigger and resurrected my gym membership where I used to go couple years ago. I did it because I want to feel healthy, energized and release happy endorphins not just for myself but to function at a better capacity to serve, love and be there for others.
Take a song writing course
It's always been my dream to compose and write songs. I'm not a good writer but I've always loved writing down prayers, thoughts, lists and dreams. As of now I would love to write a song about my dad. There's a title in my head and I see words floating around but it's hard to piece them all together. In the future I would love to write songs about things of the heart especially the heart of the Father. There's so many personal stories I have regarding that and would love to share that with others who particularly need to hear it.
Attend a worship leader training retreat
I'm so thankful for the opportunity to be part of my church's worship team and help lead people into intimacy with God and find clarity with Him. God has expanded my heart and deepened my hunger to learn, to be teachable and to grow in this area which is why I want to attend this retreat. However, I'm going to be honest, it's intimidating the thought of being surrounded by gifted leaders who know so much, have so much experience and seem super confident in their calling. But deep down I know that the seed of worship was planted in me way back when and He is calling me to bear fruit with the gifts He's given.
Make over my bathroom
So this one seems like the "least of these" but if you don't know I've always had a passion for interior decorating. There's something about being able to take something that's old, run down and unusable to reviving it, beautifying it and restoring it to it's intended beauty. Kind of like the redemption story. Also, years ago I took interior design courses in the summer thinking I might want to go to grad school for it but the industry was too competitive for me and I had to learn building codes so I decided to do it as a hobby for myself. Fast forward to present day, I bought a mirror, shelves and paint to redo our bathroom but it's been months now. My goal is to start once both my kids start school.
What are your dreams, goals, or gifts that you want to explore?
